Terms & Conditions

Effective 15 September 2026. This replaces the previous version of these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms apply to all bookings made for our services, including lawn mowing, hedge & tree trimming, garden clean-ups, rubbish removal, and ride-on mowing. If you haven't had a quote yet, you can request one via our Contact Us page, or check our FAQs for quick answers to common questions.

1. Acceptance

By booking a service with Mesh Master Lawn Mowing ("Mesh Master", "we", "us"), whether by phone, text, email, online form, or in person, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Quotes & Pricing

All prices include GST. Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date given — grass and garden growth can change significantly in that time, especially over spring and summer, so we can't hold a mowing price open for longer. Pricing is based on the property and scope described at the time of quoting. If the actual job differs materially from what was described (for example, significant overgrowth, extra area, or difficult access) — including because time has passed since the quote — we'll let you know before starting and may issue a revised quote or charge a fair one-off adjustment for that visit.

3. Payment

Payment can be made by bank transfer or via the invoice link (Xero) unless otherwise agreed. New customers and one-off jobs may be asked to pay upfront or on the day; for recurring customers, invoices are due within 7 days of the invoice date unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. We may pause scheduled visits on accounts that fall overdue. Any costs we incur recovering unpaid amounts — including debt collection and legal fees — are payable by the Customer.

4. Changes & Cancellations

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice by phone, text, or email to cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancellations with less notice, or a visit where we can't gain access through no fault of our own, may be charged at the full service rate for that visit.

5. Property Access & Preparation

Please make sure gates are unlocked, pets are secured, and the work area is clear of toys, hoses, furniture, rubbish, and pet waste before we arrive. This isn't just tidiness — items left in long grass (balls, tools, hoses, rocks, pet toys) are a common cause of damage, either flung by the mower or caught in the blades, and we can't always spot them in advance. If we can't safely access or work on the property, a $10 re-visit fee may apply and the job will be rescheduled. Please also tell us in advance about anything not easily visible — hidden sprinkler heads, buried cables or edging, uneven ground, or an animal that may be aggressive toward strangers.

6. Weather & Service Delays

New Zealand weather being what it is, adverse weather, equipment failure, or illness may delay a scheduled visit by up to 48 hours. We'll let you know where practical.

7. Subcontractors

We may, at our discretion, use trusted subcontractors to complete some jobs. Any subcontractor we engage is required to meet the same standard of work, hold appropriate insurance, and follow these Terms.

8. Workmanship

We take pride in our work. If you're not happy with something we've completed, let us know within 5 days and we'll return to put it right at no extra charge, provided it relates to work within the agreed scope.

9. Damage & Liability

Mesh Master holds public liability insurance. If you believe our work has caused damage, please call or text us as soon as you notice it — ideally within 48 hours — and follow up in writing (with photos where possible) within 7 days, so we can look into it while conditions are still fresh and put things right. Reporting later may make it harder for us to investigate, but doesn't affect any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which can't lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent the law otherwise allows, our liability for any loss connected to our services is limited to the value of the service the claim relates to. We're not responsible for damage — to an item itself, or to other property, such as a window struck by debris thrown from the mower — caused by something left in the mowing or work area that a reasonable visual check would not have identified.

Damage to our equipment: if an item left in the lawn or garden that wasn't disclosed to us damages our mower or other equipment — for example, a bent or cracked blade, or damage to the deck or engine — the reasonable cost of repair or replacement is payable by the Customer.

10. Health & Safety

For everyone's safety, please keep children and pets clear of the work area while we're on site. We may decline or pause a job if we consider the conditions unsafe.

11. Photos & Media

We take before-and-after photos of every job — particularly of existing glass, windows, and doors — for our internal records, to protect both you and us if there's ever a question about the property's condition. We may also use photos or videos of completed work for marketing on our website, Google Business Profile, and social media, under the Mesh Master Lawn Mowing name. If you'd prefer your job isn't used publicly, just let us know in writing (text or email) and we'll leave it out of any public marketing — we'll still take the internal record photos as above.

12. Privacy

We collect and hold personal information such as your name, address, and contact details only to provide and invoice for our services, in line with the Privacy Act 2020. We don't sell your information, and we only share it with others (such as a subcontractor attending your job) where needed to deliver our services or where the law requires it.

13. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where you're acquiring our services as a consumer.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on our website, and continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the change.
